Five AM

 

I’ve been up
for two hours
fretting about
doctors and their
bed side manners
or lack thereof

A tear fell
as I remember
this past week
in bed, in pain
wanting to
work
wanting to
walk
wanting to
pick up Girlie

I got stuck
with my arms over
the top of her
crib. She kept saying
“UP” “UP”
The Silent Sentinel
was able to lift
me ‘up’ but I could
not stand
so I crawled
back to bed

My seedlings
have been neglected
it is
Natural selection

Yesterday was
my first real day up
out of bed for two
hours before the
aches kicked in
and my lower back
went out.

Progress right
before a doctor’s
appointment
of course.
