Dear Readers,
I guess you can tell
I’m struggling
to remain focused
I’m pulled like Silly Putty
in the hands of a toddler
Not understanding the
reality of sticky objects
she puts me in her sock
I’m spending time
fending off emotional assaults
attention seeking behavior
sorting through my purse
being accused of yelling
and yes
convincing silly putty
to come out of a
damned striped sock
I thought I got it all
this bubblegum like toy
to help with her sensory
processing issues
should I use peanut butter
to make it release
or freeze it
to make it hard
so I can scrape it off
(or, confirm to the family
that mom has lost it
for leaving clothes in the freezer?)
I’d try the peanut butter first. Unless, of course, the sock has a peanut allergy. Better to be safe than sorry? OR you could just chuck the pain in the garbage!

It was a new sock. So new and pretty she has to add silly putty to the inside. It must have felt wonderful. Maybe I need to make a silly putty bracelet for her with plastic on the outside.
