Have a holly jolly
merry rest ye
weary gentlemen
silent silver bells and ivy
drumming like a
little drummer boy
while yuletide chestnuts pop
pipers leaping
milk maids dancing
swan and geese swimming
golden rings of birds,
hens, turtles and doves
a boar’s head, partridge and a duck
without being run over by a reindeer

Most of my life was spent singing Christmas carols. I miss it, but now I have no anxiety about singing in front of my kids. By next year, I may be ready to see what my voice has matured into.
This post gave me an excuse to watch lots of Christmas Carol videos and a bunch of Adam Sandler videos with Girlie. There are worse things I could be doing on a Saturday morning, like cleaning kitty litter, puppy poop or burying a dead cat. Seeing John Denver, Nat King Cole and the Muppets made our morning.
Girlie has been doing so well at preschool. She came home singing bits of Christmas Carols and the choreography was just adorable.
She had a minor sensory overload during bell practice with the entire preschool class. But really, giving more than twenty, four to five year olds percussion instruments makes me wonder if the performance was more for the parents and administrators than for her class of special needs kids. She stayed home on the day of the performance, since she flat out refused to get out of bed and on the bus. Well, she’s kinda opinionated, like her mom. What a surprise. (Not really.)
She is blossoming verbally, socially and is potty trained-ish. These things are going well for her. I’m so proud of her bravery. She’s a very willing participant in the experiment that is my family.
